Question

What does the bible say concerning what I should feed my family? ie. meat verses vegetarian diet.

Answer

The Bible does not address the subject of eating as to whether to eat meat or vegetables. The different laws of the Old Testament that the Jews had regarding things clean and unclean, have been shown to have been more healthy for them. Some religious groups in the past have tried to regulate diet, such as the Catholic’s not eating meat on Fridays, but the New Testament does not so regulate our diet, but forbids such. (Col. 2:16). The only regulation would be moderation.

We should feed out families a “healthy diet” and there are many book available and various opinions of exactly what that would consist. I think we should be more concerned about the spiritual food we feed our families. No matter how good a diet we may feed our families and how much exercise we may get daily, we are all going to die some day. Jesus is the bread of life and the water of life and if we partake of him, we shall never die. (John 4:14; 6:35)
