Let your heart be your guide we often hear, meaning be guided by your emoitons. This is ofter the way people approach religion as well. if we feel we are saved, we are saved. If we feel the holy Spirit guides us, he is with us.
Emotions that are not guided by the Word of God are deceptive. If we try to serve God without being emotional at all, we are being deceived as well. We defie emotionalism, see how it is displayed in religion and make an effort to put emotions in their proper place guided by faith.
