Jesus tells a parable about a man who distributed his possessions to three slaves giving them differing amount of talents (wights of money) according to their ability to make use of them. He goes away on a long journey and when he returns, he calls the slaves to give account of their profit concerning the talents. Two slaves who multiplied their talents were rewarded and the one who hid his talent was punished. We too are given gifts and opportunities to serve the Lord according to our abilities. One day we will give an account to Him for how we have used these gifts, eighter as faithful fruitful slaves or fearful, wicked, lazy slaves. Are we profitable servants now so we can be rewarded in eternity sharing in His glory?
