Just as our society has tried to redefine marriage, it has also sought to redefine the roles of husbands and wives in marriage. Bt, we must remember, God has created man, woman and marriage. He is the only moral authority that governs marriage and family. In contrast to society’s view of the “modern” woman, the wife is to behave in her role in the background focusing on the home and not seeking to compete with the husband and usurp his role. She is to be submissive to her husband as long as she does not disobey Christ. She is to love her husband, manage the home and love, teach and discipline her children hopefully according to the Word of God.
