Some Lessons From The Babylonian Captivity v2

Preacher:
Series:
Service Type:

By 586 BC, the Babylonians had destroyed Jerusalem including its walls, the Temple of the Lord, the kin, and most of the people. God said that He would use the Babylonians to punish His people because they were trusted in externals rather than in Him and His Word. They trusted in their land, their king, the Temples, their idols and material blessings instead of God. God could no longer use most of the people in His service. However, He sent a remnant away into captivity that they might turn again toward Him and serve Him with their whole heart. Then, He would bring them back to Jerusalem after 70 years of captivity. What can we learn from the Babylonian captivity that we might learn to trust in God above all and only seek to follow His Word?
