In Mat 7:1-6, Jesus warns against a certain type of judging. Many wrongly view his words as forbidden all judging against others. They believe we can never judge anyone’s behavior as sinful and call them to repentance. But, is Jesus forbidden all judging or is He forbidden various sinful types of judging including hypocritical judging where we fail to correct our own faults while condemning others for their faults. Let us study what Jesus condemns and what He approves regarding judging others both in His sermon on the mount and in the apostles’ teaching in the New Testament.
