The Sermon On The Mount v2 17 Building A Life That Will Last
In Matthew 7:24-29, Jesus conclude His sermon on the mount by admonishing His hearers to build a life that cast last through the storms of life. This life is built when we do the will of the Father, revealed in the gospel teaching of Jesus’ apostles in the New Testament. This gospel provides forgiveness of sins through Jesus, transformation of character into Jesus’ image and hope of eternal life. But, we must seek to obey all of His will lest we be surprised like many who do many things in the name of the Lord but reject other parts of His will. Mat. 7:21-23. Those who build their lives on their own will or partially on the Word of God will not withstand the storms of this life or eternity, looking forward to only darkness and torment Let us not just be hearers but doers of His will. Jesus taught as God, not needing or citing any human authority and the crowd was amazed at His teaching.
