The second of three times Satan’s voice is heard, he speaks to God about Job, a righteous man who had been materially blessed by God. Satan accuses Job of serving God only because he has great wealth. If his wealth and children were taken away, he would turn against God. God asserts Job’s righteousness and allows Satan to take away his wealth and children. In spite of all, Job serves God. Then, Satan is allowed to take away Job’s health but still he serves God. Job answers the accusation of Satan, does he serve God without pay, for nothing? Do we serve God only for health and material blessings or because we love and fear Him above all and seek to please Him above all?
