Apollos The Preacher Who Was Willing To Be Corrected
Apollos was a talented preacher who was instructed in the way of the Lord but lacked knowledge regarding what people must do to be saved. He was teaching John’s baptism that was for the forgiveness of sins but looked forward to Jesus’ ministry on earth. He was not aware that all must be baptized (immersed in water) in the name of (by the authority of Jesus) for the forgiveness of sins. While in Ephesus, two dispels heard his preaching and humbly corrected him, taught him the way of the Lord more accurately. He humbly received their correction and when he was taught better, he did and taught others better. We too must be willing to receive correction when needed so we may follow and instruct others in the Scriptures more accurately.
