If God Has Spoken v2
If God has communicated His Word to us in the bible, then what are the implications of such a revelation to all of us today? First, His Word would be absolutely authoritative, the final say about all that He has spoken so that we would need to submit to His will without argument. Then, His Word would be understandable. It would be written in such a way that applying ourselves and certain principles of communication, we could understand and obey it. Then, we must study it humbly, honestly, eagerly and reverently placing it in context. It is dangerous to just read passages at face value not understanding their context, the verses surrounding them and other passages in the Bible that may affect their application. Finally, the Word of God will be the measure by which we are judged, whether we believed and obeyed it as given to us so we may be saved. Let us study these things together so we may approach and apply His Word so we may please Him.
