Romans BC11T The Transformed Life Part 1 1
In Romans chapters 12 and 13, Paul turns to the topic of living the transformed life. Since both Jews and Gentiles are saved by the gospel, forgiven of sins through faith in Jesus by the grace of God, then we are no longer to be conformed to this world in our thinking and conduct. We are to be a living sacrifice presenting our bodies for serving God. But, how is this transformation brought about? It comes over a lifetime through the renewing of our minds as we study, mediate on and apply the New Testament teaching to our lives. We must put off the old, put on the new and continue to grow in His grace and knowledge while we continue to repent and confess our sins to Him as often as needed. Each day we become more like Jesus by His power of the gospel which not only forgives us but transforms into Jesus image. Then, in all our relationships we behave as God demands rather than according to the world. Let us see how this transformed life is to be lived in these relationships we sustain each day.
