Romans BC5T Freed From Sin 2
At the end of Romans 5, Paul states that although sin abounded, confirmed by the Law of Moses, grace, through Jesus’ death, abounded even more. This might prompt some Jews to claim that it makes no difference how much we sin since grace will always cover us. Paul makes clear in Romans y that when we become a Christian, we die to sin and must live for God. We cannot use grace as a license for sin. It is possible to be lost after once being saved! It begins at baptism (full immersion in water) in Jesus’ name, for the forgiveness of sins, when we are baptized into His death buried with Him and raised by the power of God through faith, to walk in newness of life. We are continue to be slaves to God, set apart, sanctified in His service, that we might one day receive the free gift of God, eternal life. Those freed from sin cannot continue to live in it!
