Romans BC4T Freed From Wrath 2
In Romans chapter 5, Paul begins to write of the blessings and consequences of being justified by grace through faith in Jesus. He will continue this theme through Romans chapter 8. We have blessings including being at peace with God through the blood of Jesus and also a developing proven character that has hope in the life to come in eternity, being saved from the wrath against sin God will pour out on those disobedient to the gospel. Then in verses 12-21, Paul writes of a contrast and comparison between what Adam did that led to man’s destruction to all who choose to sin and what Jesus did by grace dying on the cross to save all who would obey the gospel by faith in Him. How do we become sinners? We are not born guilty of Adam’s sin but choose to violate God’s law, bringing condemnation upon ourselves.
