The Church v2 3 The Nature of A Local Church 1
Unlike Jesus’ universal church, a local church is an assembly of saints that workup and work together in a specific location. These Christians voluntarily join together hopefully to follow only the apostles’ teaching. Misunderstanding the nature of a local church will cause us also to not understand the organization and work of a local church. This lesson contrasts the nature of Jesus’ universal church (body of all saints body of all saints in the world both living and dead) with that of a local church. Unlike the universal church, each local church has earthly organization to oversee their own work that is specified in the apostles’ teaching.
