Do we desire to humbly obey the Lord or demand that He meet all our earthly desires? Do we want Jesus’ church to be the humble body of people that obey Him or a social entertainment club designed to fulfill our desires? In John 6, Jesus shows He was not willing to become the type of king the people wanted but demanded they must be fed by the words of life, the gospel.

Generally, there are two attitudes people have toward the bible. Some believe if the Bible does not prohibit something, we are free to do it. While others believe if the Bible does not authorize something, we must not do it. Which attidue does the Bible support? What are the applications of respecting the silences of Scriptures?
