Question

What will happen to the Jews who have already died, but did not believe that Jesus was their Savior. If they do get second chance, will the dead un-believers also get a second chance?

Answer

As we read the New Testament, we must come to realize that the only means by which anyone, whether Jew or Gentile, can be saved is through the gospel of Jesus Christ. This was God’s plan for all people.

ROM 1:16 ¶ For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. ROM 1:17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “But the righteous man shall live by faith.”

Jesus, as He spoke to the Jews, warned them that if they were to reject Him, there was no other alternative for their salvation. To be saved, they must accept Him and His word.

JOH 8:24 “I said therefore to you, that you shall die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am He, you shall die in your sins.”

JOH 8:31 ¶ Jesus therefore was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you abide in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; JOH 8:32 and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. ”

Further, the apostles made it clear to both Jews and Gentiles that only through Jesus can we be saved.

ACT 2:26 ‘Therefore my heart was glad and my tongue exulted; Moreover my flesh also will abide in hope; ACT 2:27 Because Thou wilt not abandon my soul to Hades, Nor allow Thy Holy One to undergo decay. ACT 2:28 ‘Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; Thou wilt make me full of gladness with Thy presence.’

ACT 17:30 “Therefore having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all everywhere should repent, ACT 17:31 because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead. ”

Therefore, while we live, we seek to convince all to come to Jesus before it is too late. After death, the Bible does not indicate that there is any second chance for any of us. If we reject the grace of God now, the only thing left is His judgment.

HEB 9:27 And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment, HEB 9:28 so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, shall appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who eagerly await Him.
