Preach The Word 1
In 2 Timothy 4:1-5, Paul admonishes Timothy to preach the Word. This meant that Timothy was to study, apply and teach the Word of God, not his own or others opinions and traditions. He was to be ready to reprove, rebuke and patiently instruct the Word to others. Also, he was to avoid the preaching that many like, preaching that displeases God, conforming to the thinking and desires of men rather than the apostles’ teaching. Too often, preaching that displeases God is tolerated and support by many so the Word of God is not taught in its fullness and simplicity.
