Cornelius A Good Man Who Was Lost v2
Cornelius was one who served God sincerely living a good moral life. But, he was not yet a Christian, saved by Jesus. An angel revealed to Cornelius to send for Peter. The Spirit revealed to Peter he should go to Cornelius although he was a Gentile, not Jewish. As Peter was preaching the gospel of Jesus to Cornelius, he and his household were baptized (immersed) in the power of the Holy Spirit as the apostles had been on the day of Pentecost. This action of the Spirit did not save them but it was to show Peter and the other Jewish Christians with him that the gospel should be preached and obeyed by the Gentiles also. Then, Cornelius and household were baptized (immersed) in water for the forgiveness of their sins, the same that had been preached by Peter in Acts 2:36-38. Have you bee saved in the same way by the same gospel Cornelius was saved?
