Learning To Love 1 Commanded To Love
In answer to what is the greatest commandment, Jesus responds that loving God and loving your neighbor as yourself are the greatest of all commandments. Therefore, knowing how to love God and one another are of paramount importance to us if we are going to have eternal life. Contrary to many who falsely believe that our Christian character including love is formed miraculously by some external experience with the Holy Spirit that instantaneously and irrevocably changes us, we must learn to love by humbly and repeatedly submitting ourselves to the gospel, apostles’ teaching, imitating the examples of Christ, the apostles and early Christians. We must learn to love unselfishly sacrificing for one another and also having fond affection, friendliness toward each other. Let us see more about how we are commanded an must learn to love.
