The Faith of Abraham 2 Justified By A Believing Trusting Working Faith 1
Paul writes that we can never be justified by works. But James writes Abraham was justified by works orking with his faith when he offered Isaac to the Lord as a sacrifice. How can this be? Abraham believed in the God who justifies the ungodly enough to trust and obey Him. He did not trust in his perfect obedience but in the just merciful God who commanded him to bey. We also must have a trusting working faith that believing and obeying a just and forgiving God. Is baptism for forgiveness of sins a work of faith or a work of merit? Is the sinner’s prayer a work of faith? Our salvation depends on us knowing the answers to these questions.
