They Went About Preaching The Word
In Acts 8:4, the Scriptures tells us that after the disciples in Jerusalem had been scattered because of persecution against them, they kept on preaching the Word, the gospel everywhere they went. God brought good out of an evil situation and His gospel, His only power to save humanity was taught far and wide just as Jesus had commanded them to do before He ascended back to Heaven. God still desires His gospel to spread today throughout the Word and each Christian to the extent of our abilities and opportunities must work and pray so that it may be done to the salvation of souls and to His glory. But, this gospel that must be preached, heard, believed and obeyed is not the gospel of the sinner’s prayer or infant baptism. Rather, it teaches we must believe Jesus to be the Son of God (He is savior and Lord, God along with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Believing in Him, we must repent of our sins and confess our faith in Him as the Son of God before Others. Then, we must be baptized, immersed in water, in the name of Jesus, for the forgiveness of our sins. This is how we become a Christian. Acts chapters 2 and 8.
